Your Wedding – Your Choice – Your Black Country Celebrant
STOP PRESS: Did you know you can do the ‘legal’ bits of your marriage at your local registrar for a minimum cost of registering a marriage or civil partnership.
You have to pay a fee to register a UK marriage or civil partnership – different fees may apply abroad.
This is £46 if you have the ceremony at a register office, but may be more at other venues. Ask the registrar or religious minister for details.
The marriage or civil partnership certificate costs £4 on the day of the event or £10 after. You may need a copy to prove your marital status in the future. The total is therefore £50 ONLY!
Giving notice at your local register office
For most marriages or civil partnerships you must give at least 28 full days’ notice at your local register office.
You need to include details of where you intend to get married or form a civil partnership.
Your notice will be publicly displayed in the register office for 28 days.
You may also need to give notice here if you plan to marry or form a civil partnership abroad. Ask the overseas authority if you’ll need a ‘certificate of no impediment’.
Contact your local register office to make an appointment.
You can only give notice at a register office if you have lived in the registration district for at least the past 7 days.

You do NOT have to have a full wedding ceremony at a registry office – Use your ‘Wedding Celebrant’
Don’t be intimidated by them, Wedding Celebrants need them and they need us. Only Wedding Celebrants can give you a truly Personalised Wedding Ceremony
My speciality is to create a typical ‘Black Country’ style wedding, maybe like a ‘Peaky Blinders’ style for example, complete with anvil and chains using us as your Wedding Celebrant.
A handsfasting with chains? Yes – that’s different!
You can have the wedding of your dreams and totally make it your wedding, as no two weddings should ever be the same. You choose the location, you can have your own wordings, music and special ceremony provisions and rituals – Unity Chain – a traditional Black Country Wedding will bring you a stylish and unique celebration.
Add Extra Elements
Handfasting, Unity Sand Ceremony, Broom Jumping, Unity Candles – this is to name just a few of the choices.
You might assume that your wedding will either be in a Church, or in a Registry Office and what the Registrar says will be accepted.
What many people do not consider is exactly what will be said!
Do you really want a predictable wedding with all the same words, same style, same photos – different faces?
Your Choice of Venue
Your wedding ceremony can take place in your favourite garden, beach, ‘old’ buildings, pubs or anywhere your heart desires!
I am happy to travel anywhere in the world to ensure that you get exactly the ceremony you want! I will assist you with everything you need to know, suggest ideas based on your lifestyle, budget and personalities to make it the most bespoke and fitting ceremony and gesture of love that it could possibly be.
This is where I come in – your Wedding Celebrant
I will help and guide you through all aspects of your wedding ceremony, from the words you say, the vows, the poems or readings that you or your friends recite, right down to the way you exchange your rings.
One to one meetings, a rehearsal if so desired
You can include as many family and friends to take part in your ceremony. (Up to the permitted amount for your venue).
I will be with you every step of the way for as long as you need me.
My ceremonies are made unique to you and I personally write your ceremony and I can include a personalised poem in Black Country dialect – if you wish – which makes it a truly bespoke occasion.
You will have a beautiful bound copy of your ceremony, or on parchment paper at a small extra cost.
